Passpack keeps your logins safe, organized and available 24/7.
You can even securely send passwords and messages to people you trust.
Password exported from Passpack are NOT encrypted. That means that they are unprotected and anyone can read the exported data, even without your Packing Key.
To make a backup, go to Tools > Export from within your account. Choose your options (see below, or leave everything as-is to go quickly) then click Continue and your exported data will be displayed on screen.
(1) Choose the Format to Export. If you are not sure, leave CSV (Comma Separated Values) selected. This is compatible with most other program's import feature.
(2) If you would like to export only certain passwords, choose the Only certain entries option and click on the tags you would like to export. If you did not use tags in your account, you will not be able to use this option. Leave this option as it is to export all of your passwords.
(3) Customize Field Order. In the last option Click on the name of the first field to export. Click on the filed names to put them in your preferred order. You do not have to use all of the fields, you may omit some if you'd like. If you do nothing, all fields will be exported in Passpack's default order.
(4) Press Continue to go to the next screen.
When the screen changes, press the red Save to Disk button. This will download your exported data to your computer.
Some browsers, like Internet Explorer, do not support our Save to Disk feature. You should see a big box of encrypted text instead. If so, you'll need to copy and paste that into a text file.
No, all of these things are specific to the Passpack application and would not be useful for import into another program.
